About this Course:


This course meets the minimum training requirement to become an Assisted Living Facility Administrator in Florida. After the completion of the course, you will be adequately prepared to take the core competency test. After you pass the test with at least a 75%, you are prepared to manage an ALF and impact the lives of others. We are eager to help you prepare for an outstanding, important role rather you plan to own/operate/manage a small facility or a large facility.

This session will take place on Sat/Sun for two weekends via Zoom. You will be eligible for exam dates starting March 7th.

Florida ALF Administrator Requirements:



  • Be 21 years of age
  • have a high school diploma/GED
  • take a 26 hour course (ALF Core training) from a trainer registered with the AHCA;
  • pass a state competency exam; and
  • pass a level 2 background screening. 


**Most importantly, have a heart and desire to serve the vulnerable, elderly, and disabled population. **

Course Instructor


This course is taught by Jonita Johnson who is an approved Core Training Provider (License Number: 1019000088) and Registered Nurse with a Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration with 18+ years of experience in various healthcare disciplines. This includes Medicare, Medicaid, Long Term Diversion, Home Health Care, and managed care. The Instructor has a heart to help the elderly and ensure that their needs are being met, along with knowledge of the financial aspect of running a business.
